Ecotones
In my new collection, Ecotones, I draw inspiration from the coast of Maine where life on land is closely integrated with the sea. Maine’s coast creates a classic ecotone: a transitional space where flora and fauna from different adjoining natural habitats live side by side. With an ecosystem shaped by salt spray, fog, and cool ocean temperatures, Maine’s mossy maritime forests and rugged shorelines support a rich variety of plants and animals and have fostered a culture of people whose lives are profoundly connected to the sea. My collection is inspired by this connection and by some of my own experiences along the coast of Maine. Specifically, hikes on the Bold Coast, quiet evenings in Acadia, slow days on Monhegan Island and meandering explorations along the MidCoast.

Ecotones opened on August 20 with a showcase right on the water, and the Harpswell Anchor came out to cover it.
