From a childhood in the woods, through graduate school studies, and now as Kate the Earthling my connection to nature has continued to guide me through life.
As an artist, children's author, and nature explorer my mission is the same: connecting other's with the Earth and bringing us all closer to home.

A story of adventure and finding home.
Inspired by my own childhood and adventures in nature, Kate the Earthling tells the story of a little girl's discovery that we are all Earthlings. An important lesson that we should not only care for our home, the Earth, but for all those who share it.
Kate just moved and is feeling a little sad and lonely. This new town is unfamiliar - she misses her friends and her old house. But a walk through the woods turns into a nature adventure with new friends and Kate learns she's been at home all along.
Written for ages 4-8, but enjoyed by Earthlings of all ages!

Biophilia is the love for life and living things. It is our innate tendency as humans to seek connections with nature and other forms of life. I am a true advocate for what I call a biophilic lifestyle - one that is interlaced with nature in as many ways as possible.
